Microcosm of my life

This is what I got in the mail today.  Two piles of fabric and a bunch of OT type stuff for Z.'s feeding therapy.

The one batch of fabric was from Sew, Mama, Sew.  They are no longer carrying oilcloth.  Bummer for me.  I think there are other sites I can order it from, but I like her site and she is sweet.  <lightbulb>  S., we should start a fabric selling business!  Then we could legitimately feed our fabric obsession and we could go to the fabric shows, etc.  You in?

The rest was from ReproDepot.

I was trying to find cottons to work on SiMao's blankies.  I decided on red as a color and then red and brown, no florals, no trucks, no animals.  This is what I've got.  I've ended up with another set of fabrics with orange in there, and then there is the brown/light blue combo.  I'm sure there are some fabrics in there that go together, right?  Where are you when I need you???  I'm no good matching fabrics!

The other stuff, well, what can I say?  Most people don't want to have to buy chew sticks for their child.  It sounds like something you would buy for your dog.  Chew sticks and nuk brushes.  Both of which cause Z. to cry and wail.

Can't wait for some GYCO action.  My sewing machine is out, my craft supplies are waiting.  September, here we come!

Long Time No Post

Another image from the workshop I went to last weekend. I bought some ACR presets several months ago, and I just now figured out how to use them. Did I already tell you this? I read the instructions and umm, that is all it took for me to understand how to install and use them. Wow! Anyway, they aren't magic as all you have to do is play with the sliders and ta da, you can get the same effects on your own. But still, these presets are just fun, because what can I say, I like me some actions. So, this is what I got tonight right before going to bed. I might just post the same pic with different presets, I don't know. I need to post SOMETHING.

Okay, going to bed. And it is before 11:00 pm! I hope you are sound asleep.

A Minivan must be Capable of Adventures

K. said let's go for a drive. We always want to take a road we haven't before, and we sketched out a long route to the drive-in, where E. had requested to eat.

The long route took us by some lovely farms. Then we passed a sign that said "Welcome to Wharton State Forest". Then the pavement gave way to dirt, which eventually gave way to sand. We drove for what seemed like hours on narrow rutted tracks in the forest keeping our eyes glued to the GPS. It was fun and nervewracking all at the same time.

And then we were back on the pavement, and soon back in civilization, and then drinking soda out of frosty mugs.

The minivan is dirty and probably has more scratches on it than I care to notice. But it made it without the smallest hiccup. Score one for the minivan.

Merci Bouquet!

I arranged these myself, and this is the bad side. You should see the other side because I did a hell of a job on the other side of this arrangement.  I didn't think about how I positioned the bouquet until after this was taken, but I like that you can see Zorba in the background. 

I knew it was going to be bad

We went for the weight check this morning. Since she has been throwing up since before we left for vacation, and since we had a lot of trouble feeding her while we were away, well, I knew it was going to be bad. After 2 or 3 good months she lost 4 ounces. Every ounce hurts with a kid like Z.

I thought about a self portrait today. You would have seen me trying not to cry while we waited for the doctor. She came in and clucked at us and tried to encourage me. And then I dressed Z. and we paid our co-pay and we made the appointment for next month.

Next month. Every month.

Pedicured

Obviously, I enjoy posting pictures of my feet, right?  Since I'm always talking about my nasty long toenails, I thought I'd show you an image of my pedicured tootsies.  I'm wondering if you will get your toes done on the ship.

Not only does it taste like heaven, but the can is pretty.  I'm crazy for Coke. 

another cycle

Ooops. I think I forgot the secret handshake or something. It's my turn to post, only I didn't realize and then I waited too long.

I had planned to whine to you about the fact the my camera is in the shop and I am camera-less, but then Z. vomited for the third time in 4 days tonight and I think a cycle officially began. I am too brokenhearted right this moment, too weary, too overwhelmed and sad and frustrated, to say much.

It was my turn. Sorry.

Overexposed

I felt overwhelmed today.  Nothing serious, just overwhelmed.  Like my house isn't clean enough.  Like I didn't  have enough food in the house.  Like I wasn't giving my kid enough attention. Like I wasn't being productive enough. 

Thanks for the emails.  They helped. 

Tomorrow will be better.  Yep, it will.  Lindsay is coming tomorrow to straighten up my life house. 

This motherhood thing
